after the lecture on session 3, i have come to realise that is the english language is more complicated than it seems, or rather, languages come in, literally, different types. not just the look of the words, but how it is comprehended and how language affects our comprehension.
i find it quite interesting to see that a sentence can have 2 different meanings. for example, "the girl hit the man with a stick" it can mean 2 different things, the girl hitting the man who has a stick or the girl using a stick to hit the man. i feel the way to comprehend this type of sentence would be to look out for the way it is spoken, as there would be slight pauses in between words that would indicete what the sentence actually means. int hsi session, i have also gained an insight to how different languages have their verbs, noun, subjects within a sentence arranged differently. and how they affect the way people comprehend.
